These Cooling Unit are built by the Amish RV Refrigeration Company, not just a re-builder of old cores. What makes these cooling units different from all others is there is no others to compare with. These Brand-New cooling units are built by the only manufacturer in the USA, other than Norcold original units. The Amish Company that I have been buying cooling unit from for many years, with very high quality and cooling performance, has now added to their cooling unit line up, is the Norcold models of the 6 and 8 ft size units. All the re builders from all over the USA only takes the old defective core cooling units, cut out parts, replace with new part, and recharge with the old basic standard charge. The only problem with that is it is just a basic rebuild, the Amish RV Refrigeration company goes a couple of steps more. They do change out all the defective cooling unit parts same as all others, difference is they use a thicker wall tubing, a completely different ammonia charge along with some different pressure readings. This was done from years and years of testing cooling units in order to have a very cold cooling Home Refrigerator, built for long term use. Original RV cooling units, with the standard basic charge is for short term use. This is the reason the Amish can build the Brand-New cooling units from scratch, raw material to finish goods. It takes a company with lots of years to be able to completely redesign a cooling unit for the Norcolds and the Dometics. They are specialist in building a cooling unit to have the ability of maintaining cold for long hot days of summer. The Home units they designed was for year round use, not a couple days a month. The Amish company has done that. Check around, see how many builders you find that builds both Brand-New and re manufactures cooling units. After all your searching you will not find any. There is only one. You will hear all of them say "it can't be done","we are to small", "it's no problem we can do it", "Why build them people only buy reworked unit", "we don't have time for testing-building takes to long" . The Amish is the only one I found that says "we can", "we have been building Home Units for years", "the RV cooling unit is not much different", "we'll start building them for you".
